Sadly, the phenomenon of influencers faking it in order to make a quick buck is as old as the platform itself, check out this article from a few years back.
Fake sponsorships, fake merch, fake people, etc. Don't be one too Socialite Esther Coco Berg (primarily famous for a lot of poorly-done paid PR articles, like this one) seems to be padding her IG account @estherandsasha. Run it through any open-source analysis tool and you'll see that an estimated 50%-60% of her followers are apparently fake.
A nice big chunk are also apparently based in Russia - which is weird for a mommy-micro influencer who appears to spend most of her time in NYC and Miami. Of course, there's nothing illegal with buying fake followers and bots - but what's the point??? |
